Welcome to the Sundance Institute Filmmakers Fund application sponsored by Chase Sapphire Reserve®. This opportunity will provide unrestricted grants to filmmakers working on feature-length nonfiction or fiction projects. Grants will range from $10,000 - $15,000 (grant sizes are subject to change per each project’s needs). This fund supports projects in need of critical project advancement funding at any stage. For fiction projects, priority will be given to projects that anticipate being in production in late 2025 or early 2026.

 Eligibility Requirements

  • Filmmaker must be currently working on a feature-length nonfiction or fiction film.

  • Filmmaker must be a currently-supported artist of the Sundance Institute applying with an actively supported project. Filmmakers may not apply to this fund with a new project that has not been supported by a Sundance Institute Artist Program.

  • Projects must have a specific identified need for the funds.

Applicant Considerations

  • Directors with unique perspectives are highly encouraged to apply.

  • International applicants are welcome to apply.

Timeline:

All applicants can expect to be contacted by late July 2025.
